More experienced oil painters will enjoy experimenting with the unique aspects of the techniques and materials used.
Throughout the workshop, Casey will guide you through creating an effective composition, color mixing, value and contrast.
Why Birch Panel for Oil Painting?
Birch has a white sapwood and light reddish-brown heartwood. It is generally straight-grained with a fine, uniform texture and is characterized by a plain, often curly or wavy pattern. When combined with the properties of oil paint, the warm undertones and naturally occurring organic patterns in the wood create a unique visual effect, allowing the wood grain to become part of the image.
